Challenges and needs
What Midland Needed to Solve
The complexity of Midland’s financial service ecosystem created several interconnected digital challenges that required a highly structured and user-focused solution:
- Large and diverse product ecosystem. Personal banking, mortgages, small business, commercial banking, treasury management, and wealth management each serve different audiences and use cases. Users needed a clear path to the right product without navigating through unrelated services.
- Multiple customer journeys within one platform. The website serves consumers, entrepreneurs, businesses, and wealth-management clients. The digital architecture needed to distinguish these journeys while preserving a unified brand and navigation experience.
- High-value digital actions. Customers need to complete important actions online, including opening accounts, applying for loans, accessing online banking, locating branches and ATMs, and connecting with support teams. These actions needed to remain highly visible and easy to access.
- Large volume of informational content. Banking customers frequently require product explanations, FAQs, tutorials, financial calculators, security information, and service guidance. The platform needed a scalable content structure capable of presenting this information without creating unnecessary friction.
- Need for trust and accessibility. As a financial institution, Midland’s digital presence must communicate reliability, transparency, security, accessibility, and personal support alongside its product offerings.
